As a Service Associate, you will provide superior customer service, high quality knowledge, and education on our product lines for our clientele to care for their companions and pets. Your role will include hands on selling, maintaining the sales floor through product stocking, overall cleanliness, and display maintenance. You will ensure a positive experience by going above and beyond for our guests showcasing a passion for animals and offering expertise for an all-natural pet lifestyle through continuous on the job training. You’ll be reliable, punctual, and take initiative to get things done quickly and efficiently!

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage customers with your full attention by greeting, being an active listener and assisting with questions and concerns anticipating their needs
  • Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of our goods and a desire to connect product to purpose
  • Our two & four-legged customer’s need is top priority – Assist customers in determining what they need and matching our products and services with those needs
  • Guide customers to the right products to fit the needs of their pet
  • Ensure the achievement of individual and store goals by contributing to the enhancement and development of the business through customer engagement, social media, planning in-store events and outward community marketing
  • Contribute to the management of the visual displays and merchandising of the products
  • Ensure appropriate levels of product on sales floor by replenishing product daily
  • Additional duties as assigned in an evolving retail environment including maintaining online content, social media platforms, and more.

Key Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of experience in a retail role, being a passionate pet owner is a plus
  • Working knowledge of retail POS systems, experience with Square for retail preferred
  • Must be comfortable handling cash
  • Maintaining store cleanliness at all times
  • Ability to stand on one’s feet for 8 hours or longer
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs consistently throughout the work day
  • Proven ability to drive and exceed individual and store results
  • Outgoing, energetic and friendly personality
  • High flexibility and ability to adapt to different customers and their needs
  • Answer phones promptly with greeting as instructed
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast moving and dynamic environment
